Last week, Chef Andrew participated in the Hawaii Food and Wine Festival’s Hulikau Beach Cookout and it was a lot of fun. It was held at the Kahala Hotel & Resort and he joined the likes of Chefs  Alan Wong, Ed Kenney, Elmer Guzman, George Mavrothalassitis, Lee Anne Wong, Mark "Gooch" Noguchi, Michelle Karr-Ueoka, Roy Yamaguchi, Vikram Garg, and Wayne Hirabayashi. The Pig and the Lady continues to support the local culinary arts scene and look out for future collaborations this summer and fall, including the big Hawaii Food and Wine Festival main event in October.

In the meantime, Chef Andrew will be traveling with a small team next week to New York City to participate in the Hawaiian Airlines Liberty Challenge — Hōkūleʻa and her crew welcome the public to tour the canoe and participate in educational programming during the Liberty Festival on June 11th from 10 am to 5 pm at Pier 26, Hudson River Park. The free festival is part of the Hawaiian Airlines Liberty Challenge that hosts one of the most competitive outrigger canoe races in the world. It also features performers and artisans who showcase the artistry and traditions of the Pacific Islands.

The Pig and the Lady will be there as a Hawaiian Airlines promo to also kick off Chef Andrew’s Hawaiian Airlines menu that will be served in first class. Wish Chef Andrew and his team well for their upcoming trip to the Big Apple!
