First up, “Happy Birthday, Alex!” The P&L team celebrated our general manager’s birthday at Any Place Lounge last night and fun times were had and karaoke was sung. If you see Alex at the farmers market this week, make sure to wish him a “happy birthday!”

Last week’s Mama Le pop-up event was a smashing success. We are exploring the option of making this a monthly event, but are still figuring things out. We’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, check out some photos from last week’s pop-up over on our Facebook page. Mahalo to Orlando Benedicto for taking photos of the event.

For this week’s farmers market, we’re on our regular schedule. Specials include MI VIET TIM, Mama Le’s featured noodle soup. This is a Chinese influenced noodle soup with stewed duck leg. For featured banh mi, we have BANH MI SIU MAI, or SPICY PORK MEATBALL. Finally, for the featured rice dish, we have Mama Le’s STUFFED TOFU W/ MINCED PORK and is cooked in a tomato sauce. Finally, as an extension of last week’s BUN CHA pop-up, we will be making BUN CHA PORK BELLY, with fresh veggies and vermicelli noodles. All good stuff! And as always, you can view the full menu over at our Farmers Market Menu page

Finally, a quick reminder that next Monday, November 16, we are partnering with the Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF) and are going to host a SAKE TASTING EVENT at the restaurant from 8pm - 10pm after the screening of KAMPAI! Plus, the director, Mirai Konishi, as well as Kosuke Kuji, fifth-generation president of Nanbu Bijin brewery, will be in attendance.
