This week, Chef Andrew and a team from The Pig and the Lady will travel to NYC to be a part of the Hawaiian Airlines Liberty Challenge hosted by New York Outrigger. It’s a free all-day festival promoting Hawaii with food, entertainment, outrigger canoeing and also the historic docking of the Hokulea, as it continues onward around the globe on its voyage.
This is also great timing, because this also is the inaugural week of Chef Andrew’s contribution to the first class menu on select flights of Hawaiian Airlines as part of their Featured Chef Series, showcasing some of Hawaii’s most exciting star chefs. Check out the video below that showcases Andrew’s inspirations from the environment around him and his cultural upbringing.
In other big news, the Hale Aina Awards presented by Honolulu Magazine nominees have just been announced and we are fortunate and honored to be nominated in 5 categories this year!
We were fortunate to win 3 awards last year, and we hope to have a better showing this year. It’s all very exciting because it is the general public that votes for the winners. The nominees, the categories and the ballots are available at www.honolulumagazine.com. Voting ends June 30 and winners are announced at a ceremony in mid-September! If you love what we are doing, then we would love your support and vote for The Pig and the Lady!
